Leander von Thien (*1994) is a white cis male queer photographer based in Berlin. His art is centered around the queer community with an intersectional perspective, using photography as a tool for representation, connection, and empowerment. Growing up in the countryside of northern Germany with rigid images of masculinity and confronted with more overt and subtle homophobia he recognizes that bodies are inherently political - a trace that lead to the understanding of bodies as a possibility of liberation.
